My Approach
Everyone has a story to tell, but sometimes our own story can feel narrated out of our control. Perhaps you are turning to maladaptive coping mechanisms to cope with pain, grief, heartache... Perhaps it is the only way you know how right now. If we were to zoom out together, what environment, systems, or life challenges have kept you stuck?
I am here to listen to your story nonjudgementally and empower you to get back into the driver’s seat of your life. I aim to strike a healthy balance between warm validation and thoughtful directness.
My Story
I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, "The Land of Enchantment", until age 18 when I had the privilege of moving to upstate NY to study dance and social work. It wasn't until I worked at an addiction clinic in upstate NY that I decided to dedicate my career to anti-racist, trauma informed clinical work, inspired by the individuals I met.
Shortly thereafter, I moved to NYC and obtained my Master's of Social Work at Columbia University. I am based out of NYC where I currently specialize in treating the impacts of addiction and trauma. I have both a personal and professional understanding of how addiction impacts individuals and families, and this drives my passion for the work.
I also still dance on the side, and enjoy working with artists and creative minds!
